Gravel Request Process

The Buyer is responsible for all costs associated with mining and transporting the material, including permitting and planning costs, as needed.

Complete the Gravel Request Form. NANA will determine your user category.

Currently, Hotham Peak Gravel Pit in Noorvik is the only fully permitted and operating pit in the NANA Region.

To mine at any other sites, you must:

• Contact NANA.
• Complete the Material Site Permit and Plan Checklist.
• Prepare and submit a Mining and Reclamation Plan (M&R) to NANA for approval.
• For sites greater than 5 acres, you also need Department of Natural Resources (DNR) approval of your M&R Plan.

Gravel and sand may not be available at all villages. It may take weeks or months to complete the gravel request process.
